Capri
The Island of Capri has been a resort since Roman times,
and is currently popular with the celebrity set - some of
whom own property on the island, and others who are frequent
visitors. Described by some as “the world’s most
beautiful isle”, we guarantee you won’t be disappointed
if you choose to visit, especially if you stay with us here
at the Hotel Della Piccola Marina Capri!
Capri is home to a vast myriad of flora and fauna, and is
a fantastic place for nature lovers! With various small mammals
and birds (including migratory birds) to see, don’t
forget to bring your camera with you! Perhaps most important
is the marine wildlife since we are surrounded by the Mediterranean.
If you’re lucky you’ll see not only fish but reptiles
and amphibians in the water as well. And if wildlife isn’t
your thing, Capri has a long and great history of wine making
too!
Perhaps the most regal historical visitor to Capri was Queen
Victoria of Sweden, Sophie Marie Viktoria, who lived on the
island for several months every year until the 1950s on the
advice of her doctor. This was so her health would benefit
from the wonderful climate. Hey, if it worked for her…!
